Roxanne Williams | Ms. Roxy
Owner & Director
I’m so grateful to share my passion and artistry with every dancer who walks through the doors of Soulshine Dance Arts. My journey began at the Claude Watson School for the Arts, where I trained through both the elementary and high school programs. I went on to perform as Dance Captain at Canada’s Wonderland, appear in Toronto film opportunities, and small-venue productions and later serve as both performer and Company Manager with Princess Cruises.
Over time, my love for performing grew into a passion for teaching and mentoring. After more than a decade as an instructor, competitive team manager, camp director, and studio manager in Toronto, I opened Soulshine Dance Arts January 2024, in Fergus ON, to create a space where dancers can grow in confidence, creativity, and joy, and be inspired to discover what truly makes their soul shine.
Becky Barrett
Dance Instructor Jazz, Lyrical & Hip Hop
SDA has the wonderful privilege of having Ms. Becky as part of our teaching team. She brings an incredible 36 years of dance experience to Soulshine, with a background in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, and Hip Hop.
Ms. Becky began her dance journey as a student at Anna Marie Oliver School of Dance, where her love of dance eventually led her to transition into a teaching role at the age of 25.
Her favourite part of teaching is watching dancers discover their own unique style while growing in confidence and finding joy in expressing themselves through movement. Ms. Becky creates a warm, welcoming, and encouraging environment where every dancer feels supported as they develop both their skills and confidence.
Brittany Bertens
Dance Instructor Sweet Feet, Jazz/Acro & Tap
SDA is proud to have Ms. Brittany join the SDA teaching team, co-teaching alongside myself.
Dance has been a part of Ms. Brittany’s life for many years. She danced throughout her elementary and high school years and has continued to stay connected to and appreciate the dance world ever since.
In her full-time career, Ms. Brittany works closely with people every day, bringing strong communication skills, patience, reliability and a caring approach to those she works with. She is looking forward to bringing these qualities into the SDA space, while helping to create a positive and encouraging environment for our dancers.
Ms. Brittany also has a special connection to the SDA community as a dance parent herself! Her daughter is a member of our SDA Performance Team, giving her a wonderful understanding of SDA from both a parent and team perspective.
Ms. Brittany is thrilled to share her love of dance with SDA students, and continue building strong relationships with our dancers. We are excited to have her with us at SDA.
Joy Ham
Creative Content & Events
Our Creative Content & Events Coordinator brings Soulshine’s energy to life both online and in person. She manages all social media creative content, capturing and sharing special moments through photography of our dancers. In addition, she plays a key role in planning and coordinating Soulshine events, helping to make every dancer shine. A proud dance mom to two girls who absolutely love dancing at Soulshine, she understands firsthand the excitement and community that make our studio so special.
